Hi all we have just returned home on a high from the Toronto International Film Festival – here we are with the fantastic Viggo Mortensen and Jane Campion. The City of Toronto arranged for us to perform during the Festival downtown, like New York’s Time Square, and we had a great response. Love you Toronto! Here’s what Variety said:
A docu that has you falling in love with two of the crazier people you never met, the Topp Twins Pure fun, very musical, and a can of mixed nuts. What we see are transformations worthy of world-class actresses.
They attain a similar vocal purity only siblings seem able to achive, which gives their country-flavored music a keening, aching quality. It makes the Topps a real double threat: their audiences can choke up or choke with laughter.
You can read the rest of the review on Variety’s website.
In this elegantly compiled work – part biopic, part concept film, part comedy – Pooley provides a strong reminder that what resists classification maybe the very thing that has the power to restore unity, understanding and compassion in a tumultuous world.

Hi Girls!
That’s fantastic! I have been keeping my finger on the pulse with some TIFF websites. Gives one a slight feel of the atmosphere, what movies are showing, which artists are in town, and pictures of Toronto, including Yonge-Dundas Square. I hope Sunday night is heaps of fun! I know the audience will love you and the movie.
Don’t trip on the red carpet!
Cheers,
Vi

Girls,
So glad to hear your movie won the audience award for best Doco at Toronto film festival! It’s really doing well, isn’t it? Congratulations all round! I can see by your gig guide you must still be really busy. I’m enjoying myself listening to your new Cd. A couple of the songs really get your foot tapping and knees up, and others are gorgeous to just listen to. I am still hoping to see your movie on the big screen here in Aus sometime.

Congratulations yet again. I received the DVD which we have really enjoyed, and have worked on the local cimema for the real thing. They have made some advance so here’s hoping! Enjoy the tour, Wen.

Hi, I have commented before about your movie which I went to see. It was fantastic. My daughter bought me the DVD for mothers day, so now I can watch it whenever I want. Also I am the Vice President of the Appaloosa Horse Association of NZ. I asked our Secretary to contact the twins to see if they would be able to call in to our National show we are holding on the 24th,25th,26th and 27th March 2010 at Kihikihi, Te Awamutu. We don’t expect them to be there all day or anything, but I thought as their love for the Appy they may wish to visit for any sort of reason. We could include them to do something if they wish, or maybe they would like to come along to our BBQ and prize giving on the Saturday evening. I know they are very busy people, but just wanted to make an offer for them to attend. Please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your great wit and dedication. All the best for your shows. I hope I am able to get to one close to my home of Rotorua.
Cheers

Hi Girls,
Adding to the growing list of critics praising “Untouchable Girls” our own David and Margaret from the show “At the Movies” here in Oz on the ABC gave it a great review the other night. They both enjoyed the movie immensley. I can’t wait to see it at the cinema in a week or so! (wearing my new Topps’ shirt) I’m sure it will be well received at the Amsterdam festival next week too.
cheers,
Vi
